1.45 is comfortable for continuous reading. 1.15 is tighter; 2 is double-spaced.

  • No upload The conversion runs in this tab. Your file never travels — not to us, and not to the advertising.
  • No sign-up, no email, no daily cap There is no account system to sign up to.
  • No size limit we invented Only your device's memory — about ~2 GB on a desktop browser, ~400 MB on a phone.
  • Turn your Wi-Fi off and convert anyway The conversion needs nothing but this page. Ads will not load without a connection; your file will still convert. That is the whole claim, and it takes five seconds to check.

Typesets an AZW3 into a PDF. As with any ebook, this trades reflowable text for fixed pages — right for printing, wrong for reading on a phone, and EPUB is the better destination for everything else.

The trade you are making

KF8, the format inside an AZW3, is reflowable by design: it exists so a book can fill a six-inch screen and a phone equally well.

A PDF cannot do that. Its pages are laid out once at a fixed size, and reading one on a small screen means pinching and panning. Convert to PDF for printing or for a system that demands it; convert to EPUB for anything you intend to read.

DRM is the thing that stops most of these

A book bought from Amazon is encrypted to the account it was bought for. That is the point of it, and no converter can read one — a page claiming otherwise is either lying or circumventing the protection, and neither is something this site does.

The check is explicit: an encrypted book is refused with a plain explanation rather than converted into a file of garbage.

Books without DRM convert normally, and there are more of them than people expect: Project Gutenberg, Standard Ebooks, most publishers selling direct, Humble Bundle, anything you produced yourself, and anything already in Calibre.

What comes across

A Kindle book is compressed HTML, so the text and its heading structure come back cleanly. Chapters, paragraphs and emphasis-by-structure survive.

Images, cover art, footnotes, tables and the book's own styling do not. Those live in separate records with their own indexes, and reassembling them faithfully is a much larger job than reading the text — which is the part you read.

Latin script only, and why

PDF has fourteen built-in fonts that every reader already has, and they cover WinAnsi — Latin letters, accented European characters, curly quotes, the euro and pound signs. Nothing else.

Writing Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Hebrew, Thai, Devanagari or Cyrillic means embedding a font that contains those glyphs, and a font with usable CJK coverage is several megabytes. Downloading that on the chance a visitor needs it is not a reasonable trade for a page that mostly converts English.

So instead of producing a document full of blank boxes, unencodable characters become a question mark and the conversion tells you exactly how many were affected and which script they belonged to. If your text is in one of those scripts, this is the wrong tool and you should use a desktop converter — that is a more useful answer than a broken file.

Questions

Is my file uploaded?
No. The PDF is built in this tab and handed to you as a download. That matters here more than most places: the documents people convert to PDF are contracts, CVs, medical letters and manuscripts.
Should I convert to PDF or EPUB?
EPUB for reading, PDF for printing or for something that will only accept a PDF.
Why was my book refused?
DRM. A book bought from Amazon is encrypted to the account that bought it.
Can I convert several files at once?
Yes. Drop as many as you like, or a whole folder. Each becomes its own PDF keeping its original name.
